During the school holidays I always look for interesting things to do with Matthew and Holly. So I thought I would take them to the RAF Museum in Cosford (as a bonus it has free entry).
The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, located in Cosford in Shropshire, is a museum dedicated to the history of aviation and the Royal Air Force in particular. It consists of four aircraft hangars; Test Flight, War in the Air, National Cold War Exhibition and Hanger 1 as well as the main reception building and outside exhibits.
Here are the video highlights of our day out:
Test Flight Hanger:
Most of these exhibits were produced in secrecy, often utilising components borrowed from other types.
War in the Air:
The display includes British, German and Japanese aircraft, all with an important place in the development of military aviation.
National Cold War Exhibition:
Explore the immense threat posed to world peace and security during this significant period of the 20th century.
Hangar 1:
The Museum’s collection of transport and training aircraft consists of some of the largest and smallest machines flown by the Royal Air Force.
For a free day out with the kids I would highly recommend the RAF Museum Cosford.
