Travelling from London to Paris on Eurostar
I woke up early at 3:30 and couldn’t fall back asleep. Finally, we got up at 5:30 and left the Premier Inn St Pancras. It only took us a few minutes to walk to the station, where we checked in for our Eurostar train to Paris. We were scheduled to depart at 8:01, but we waited and waited. Finally, they called our boarding time at 7:35 and we made our way up to coach 15 seats 41, 42, and 45. We left on time on London to Paris on Eurostar.
After a smooth journey, we arrived at Gare du Nord station in Paris. From there, we walked to our hotel, the Mercure Gare L’Est, which was only 10 minutes away. We couldn’t check in yet, but we left our bags at the hotel and set out to explore the city.
First, we grabbed breakfast from a McDonald’s around the corner, then we took the underground to the Louvre Museum. We spent a couple of hours there, taking in the iconic Mona Lisa and other artworks from around the world.
Next, we headed to the Eiffel Tower, taking the underground to Tocadero for the best photo opportunities. We snapped some great pictures with the tower in the background before heading back to our hotel to check in and rest for a bit. Our room even had a free minibar, which we took advantage of.
For dinner, we found a cozy street cafe and ordered pizza, fish and chips, and steak and chips. Then, we went back to the Eiffel Tower and took a river cruise that lasted about an hour, enjoying the views along the River Seine. We stopped for some ice cream and savored the sight of the illuminated tower as it flashed on and off.
Finally, we took the underground back to our hotel and called it a night.
